AP U.S. Government Civics Project


Project requirement
§Which option have you chosen?
§Outline and describe the steps you will take to complete this project
§Show completion of the first step
§Public opinion poll option (Must turn in rough draft of questions and proposal for where you will get surveys done)
§Lobbying group option. (Must identify what issue you will lobby about; a 3 prong plan for lobbying; a detailed description of the policy you will lobby for)
§Supreme Court case option. (Must identify what issue and cases you will be researching and doing a project on.)
§Write a bill / legislation option (Must write a rough draft of your law and submit it give you suggestions and run it by a lawyer)
§voter registration project / proposal / presentation of findings (Must identify which groups of people you will register to vote, where you will approach them, challenges you anticipate occurring)
§attend a local government meeting / research issue / presentation of findings (Must identify what meeting you will attend, when and where this will occur, and after attending a meeting identify what issues you will be researching)
§create your own project and get the approval of Mr. Curtice (Must write up a full proposal of what the project is, why you're going to do it, and how it is a Civics project)
